Distinguished Clients

Sierra Gorda Carbon Offsets are a unique option for improving your organization´s social and environmental responsibility because you have the opportunity to work directly with the local stakeholders that provide the field experience, technical expertise, long-term monitoring, and personal commitment to insure the success of your offset.  Our reforestations provide tangible benefits to global climate and regional biodiversity, and offer an alternative livelihood to highly marginalized rural community members in the World Biosphere Reserve, Sierra Gorda Queretaro.

Many organizations hold annual conferences or meetings and choose to offset the emissions of these events as a way to demonstrate their commitment to sustainable business practices.  Airline travel is one of the most significant contributions we make to global greenhouse gases, and by organizing a carbon neutral event your participants will recognize and appreciate your strong pledge to fighting climate change.

Triple Bottom Line Investment Group

The Triple Bottom Line Investment group pioneered the concept of "Triple Bottom Line Investing" (TBLI), a sustainable finance approach that takes into account financial, environmental, and social returns on investment. TBLI is based on the principle that positive financial, social, and environmental returns are not mutually exclusive - sound investments ensure returns in all three areas.

The TBLI Conference is the world’s largest annual international education and networking event on ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) or extra-financial sustainable investment.   Last year's event in Paris was the largest event so far with over 500 participants.  Travel to this event was carbon neutral thanks to an offset with Sierra Gorda Carbon.

Schwab Foundation Social Entrepreneur’s Summit offset with Sierra Gorda Carbon

Approximately 250 invited participants, including Schwab Social Entrepreneur and Director of the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve Marta I. “Pati” Ruiz Corzo, gathered on the shores of Lake Zurich in January 2008 for the Seventh Global Summit on Social Entrepreneurship organized by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship.  This Summit provides a forum for participants to share their knowledge and experience as they work to advance societies and address social problems through innovative and effective social entrepreneurship.  Other participants included leaders and managers of foundations, investment banks, private equity firms, global corporations, media companies and academic institutions.  All carbon emissions generated by the air travel of participants coming from 34 different countries to attend the event were offset through carbon sequestration carried out in reforestations of the Sierra Gorda Biosphere Reserve.

International Association for Society and Natural Resources

The 13th International Symposium on Society and Resource Management (ISSRM), the official meeting of the International Association for Society and Natural Resources, took place from June 17-21, 2007. The 2007 symposium was hosted by Utah State University in Park City, Utah.

The International Symposium on Society and Resource Management is the official annual meeting of the International Association for Society and Natural Resources http://www.iasnr.org , an interdisciplinary professional association whose members bring a variety of social science and natural science backgrounds to their research on environmental and natural resource issues.

Since its inception in 1986, the ISSRM has become the premier scientific meeting for academic and government researchers, students, land managers and NGO representatives who are broadly interested in the human dimensions of natural resources and the environment.  With their generous sponsorship of reforestation activities in the Sierra Gorda the conference organizers obtained sufficient carbon credits to completely offset the 2007 event.
